Give that man some water

Marco Rubio was a serious 2016 GOP Presidential candidate until 'watergate' happened. The Florida Senator's response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address was supposed to be a hallmark moment in the senator's rising career. Yet, the spotlight of national TV proved to be too much for Rubio. During the nearly 15 minute speech, Rubio repeatedly made long awkward pauses to drink from his water bottle. No one remembers what the heck he said because we were laughing too hard to pay attention.

Michelle Obama gets jealous

Kamala Harris is "by far the best-looking attorney general in the country," claimed Barack Obama. The remark, instead of focusing on Harris's impressive achievements as California A.G., squarely targeted her looks and made a fool of the president. A nice compliment behind the scenes may have been all right, but the remark came during a speech Obama was giving at a Democratic National Committee fundraising luncheon.

We bet Michelle Obama had some words of wisdom for her off the cuff hubby after the event. In Obama's defense, he did call Harris brilliant, dedicated and tough. He also later called and apologized to Harris for the comments.

Michelle Obama gets really jealous

President Obama's second term has been an up and down rollercoaster affair. During what should have been a somber day at Nelson Mandela's public memorial service the President and David Cameron, the UK Prime Minister, decided it would be a good idea to let Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt snap a photo of them. Meanwhile a photographer had the brilliant idea of capturing the moment as it happened. Michelle Obama could be scene in the background looking less than thrilled.

North Carolina GOP

Don Yelton is a racist. He also hails from a state with a history of civil rights abuses and mistreatment of minority groups. Finally, Yelton is a republican. Perhaps The Daily Show interviewed him in an effort to coax a controversial remark from the man, but they never realized he would willingly hang himself. Yelton's comments on the repealing of part of a Voter ID law in the state of North Carolina led to his resignation.

"The law is going to kick the Democrats in the butt," he said. Yelton went on to add that "if it hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it."

Healthcare.gov Launch

The site is broken. My bad. That's basically what the leading democrats behind the Affordable Care Act said when thousands of people across the U.S. were locked out of purchasing insurance on the site. The glitch-ridden site made people wait for hours to access the healthcare marketplace. When people were finally able to log on they realized that the Care Act existed, but it certainly wasn't all that affordable.

Boston Mayor disses Detroit

Detroit hasn't had the greatest year. The beleaguered city has had a number of less-than-proud moments highlighted by the sentencing of former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to 28 years in federal prison. The corrupt politician helped deepen the city's budget crisis and now Detroit has filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy filing makes Detroit the largest city in America to ever admit that it cannot pay its bills.

During a NY Times interview with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, the politician was asked what other major U.S. city he would like to live and govern in. Menino mentioned that Baltimore was "a nice little city," but that Detroit was "a place I'd love to go." He then added that he would "blow up the place and start all over." After the recent bombing of the Boston Marathon this certainly was not a wise thing to say on the Mayor's part.

Weiner for Mayor

Anthony Weiner has an unfortunate last name for someone with a sex addiction. He previously was caught sexting women much younger than himself back in 2011 while a Congressman. He said he was sorry, made his amends and resigned from his post. Flash forward two years later and the man was undergoing a political renaissance in the vein of Bill Clinton. Weiner had the New York City Mayor's race in the bag until he was caught with his pants down again. He defiantly stayed in the race, but his lofty poll numbers dropped him out of contention.

Sydney Leathers, the girl he was texting with, leaked the photos and embarked on a short-lived porn career. She then tried to enter Weiner's Primary campaign party in September, but was whisked away.

Nevada and Slavery

Nevada assemblyman Jim Wheeler doesn't support slavery, but he wouldn't mind if his constituents did. Wheeler said that he'd help legislate slavery if his constituents wanted it. The shockingly appalling comments came during a speech he was giving to Storey County Republicans in Nevada last August.

"If that's what they wanted, I'd have to hold my nose, I'd have to bite my tongue and they'd probably have to hold a gun to my head, but yeah, if that's what ... the constituency wants that elected me, that's what they elected me for," he said. "That's what a republic is about. You elected a person for your district to do your wants and wishes, not the wants and wishes of a special interest, not his own wants and wishes, yours."

He went on to claim that he was at the mercy of those who elected him. Apparently politicians aren't supposed to think for themselves.

"I was hired to do a job, what the people wanted me to do, so if it is clear to me, even if it's against my own wishes, what my constituents want, that's the way I am going to vote," he said in the video of the August meeting.

Toronto's mayor

Toronto mayor Rob Ford has been in and out of the news since May 2013. He came under fire for smoking crack cocaine. The whole incident was made light off after American website Gawker and The Toronto Star both reported that they had seen a cell phone video of the mayor smoking crack cocaine. Ford also commented on political issues in the video.

The fun loving mayor at first denied he smoked the illegal substance. He eventually admitted to smoking crack, but has repeatedly refused to step down from office. Yet a public opinion poll showed that 60 percent of Toronto residents want the Mayor to step down. However Ford's approval ratings actually went up despite the incident, though they are a less than stellar 44 percent.
