Miguel Songs: 'Adorn' Singer Sued 2 Years After Accidentally Kicking fan at Billboard Awards
"Adorn" singer Miguel is being sued by a fan he accidentally hit with his foot during his stage dive at the 2013 Billboard Music awards, TMZ reports.
Cindy Tsai claims Miguel landed on her head, which resulted in a major injury. Tsai is suing Miguel and the MGM Grand hotel where the 2013 Billboard awards took place for negligence and is seeking damages to cover medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering, according to TMZ.
Billboard reports that Tsai is among two women who claimed they suffered serious injuries from Miguel's violent stage dive on their heads during the 2013 BBMAs.
The other woman is Khyati Shah, who met with Miguel after his performance and spoke to TMZ and Billboard about her injuries.
At the time of the incident, Shah's lawyer told TMZ that "Some of the difficulties [Khyati Shah] is experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury."
And though Shah claimed she suffered from serious injuries and possible brain damage, Billboard reports that she never followed through with her lawsuit.
So far, neither MMGM nor Miguel has publicly responded to Tsai's lawsuit.
According to Variety, Miguel is currently preparing for his debut acting role in a John Legend-produced romantic drama musical movie.
In the still untitled movie, Miguel will play " a former one-hit wonder who regains his love for music when he is hired to coach an aspiring singer for her audition on a singing competition show," Variety reports.
Nabil Elderkin will be making his feature film directorial debut for Legend's upcoming movie. Eldurkin's prior credits include directing music videos for John Legend's "All of Me," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," and GOOD music's "Mercy."
The film's release date and supporting actors have yet to be announced.
