Boston Calling Music Festival Lineup, Dates & News: Find Out When Beck, My Morning Jacket & Pixies Will Play
The Boston Calling Music Festival will bring a music-packed weekend to Boston May 22-24 featuring headliners Beck, My Morning Jacket and Pixies.
The all-ages festival includes at least 23 music acts on two stages. There will be food, fun, music and more. The rain-or-shine festival is held at City Hall Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts.
The last Boston Calling Music Festival took place last year, and the festival returns for 2015 with well-known artists and newcomers.
The mostly rock and indie festival features some hints of pop, but hip hop and rap is mostly missing from the festival.
The lineup kicks off Friday with just three performers: Sharon Van Etten, Tame Impala and Beck. Both Saturday and Sunday feature a full lineup of artists.
Saturday, a performance to check out is the Boston garage-punk band Krill. The group will kick off the day with a 12:55 p.m. start time on the Red Stage.
At 2:55 p.m. on Saturday, one of the lone hip-hop artists Run the Jewels will perform on the JetBlue Stage.
Two Scandanavian artists will be featured at Boston Calling: Danish electro-pop singer MØ, and Swedish Top-40 style singer Tove Lo, who will perform after Run the Jewels at 3:45 p.m. on the Red Stage.
Folk singer Ben Harper, a three-time Grammy Award winner, and his band The Innocent Criminals will take the stage before the headliner at 7:55 p.m. on the Red Stage.
Closing out the night on Saturday is the alternative rockers My Morning Jacket. They will take to the JetBlue Stage at 9:20 p.m.
The festival concludes Sunday with a performance from Pixies, another alternative rock band. The band was formed in 1986 and played until 1993 before taking a break until 2004. They will perform at 9:20 p.m. on the JetBlue Stage.
