In the "Patriot Brains," the title of next week's episode of "iZombie," Liv and Clive dig for clues in the maddening death of a former sniper.

According to Spoiler Guide, the victim, Everett, had been recently working as an instructor at a paintball facility and his demise remains a major mystery.

Meanwhile, TV Guide reports CW network officials recently greenlighted the high-energy drama for a second season. Executives are rumored to be still figuring out some of the intricate details, such as how many episodes there will be and what night of the week the show will air.

In recent episodes, Liv stumbled across the disheartening news that Lowell was purchasing brains from Blaine. Around that same time, show creator Rob Thomas told USA Today: "There's a momentum to the story of Blaine's brain business that carries us to the end of the season. We are definitely into more of Blaine's brain business."

Starring former "Once Upon a Time" star Rose McIver as medical resident Liv Moore, "iZombie" chronicles her life and experiences after she is transformed into a zombie at a party she attended.

All Moore's misfortune leads to her abandoning her once promising medical career, not to mention her happy relationship, to work at a morgue in Seattle, just so that she can satisfy her insatiable appetite for eating brains.

In Episode 7, Moore stunningly ate the brains of a would-be new mom, which the newspaper adds somehow aided her in coming to understand her own mom a bit better.

In fact, with each dead victim she devours, Moore takes on some of their characteristics and seemingly learns from their past experiences.

The series also stars Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux, Robert Buckley as Major Lilywhite, Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, David Anders as Blaine DeBeers, Molly Hagan as Eva Moore and Nick Purcha as Evan Moore.
