Universal Parks News: Nintendo Characters, Including Mario, Set to Invade Park With New Rides
In a spectacular announcement, as reported by Business Wire, Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts have inked a deal that will bring the characters of Nintendo's video games to life at the theme parks across the world.
This may include rides and immersion experiences, such as 4D on-site films and in-park interactive games with special characters. Can you imagine all the things that could be included? There is a tell-tale sign that Mario Kart is going to be included, maybe as a bumper car ride.
The Universal Parks have been famous for bringing movies and pop-culture fictions to life, with rides based on popular movies like "E.T.," "Back to the Future," "Men in Black," "Jaws" and even a "Beetlejuice" stage show.
Universal Parks & Resorts are owned by Comcast NBCUniversal. Their parks offer guests around the globe a unique resort experience accompanied by summer fun and adventures with incredibly time-relevant pop-fiction themes. They claimed to have some of the most immersive experiences of all with thrilling features that are choreographed to technologically advanced sound and audio elements.
In the Nintendo Universe, the company has been a worldwide leader in interactive gaming with sales of its hit games and various consoles. Popular characters in this universe include Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, Donkey Kong and Zelda.
Although more details about this new venture for the two companies will be announced in the future, it is expected that Universal will be bringing the most popular characters from the Nintendo universe to life for these family entertainment features.
USA Today reports this deal could mean that parks across the world, which include Hollywood, Orlando, Japan and Singapore could host all of these new attractions coming out of the deal. This follows the announcement two months ago by Nintendo to expand its market by making games for iOS and Android device users, which has significantly boosted its stock.
