The Motorola Moto E and the LG G4 are two of the latest Android smartphones to debut in 2015. The LG G4 is unique for its huge 5.5 inch screen and the Moto E features a splash resistant body, according to Phone Arena.

Comparing the two devices, the LG G4 is the premium, but pricey device while the Motorola Moto E is the cheap, but highly capable competitor.

The design of the two devices is pretty similar. The Moto E measures in at 5.11 x 2.63 x 0.48 inches. The G4 is slightly larger and thinner measuring in at 5.86 x 3.00 x 0.39 inches. The Moto E weighs 5.11 oz. while the G4 weighs 5.47 oz.

The display is the big difference between the two smartphones. The LG G4 has a large 5.5-inch screen displaying 1440 x 2560 pixels and 538 pixels per inch (ppi). The Moto E has the smaller 4.5-inch screen that displays 540 x 960 pixels and only 245 ppi. To protect its screen, the Moto E uses the scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The G4 does not offer Gorilla Glass.

The camera on the two smartphones is also a big difference. The G4 uses a 16 megapixel (MP) camera with an LED flash, while the Moto E uses a very basic 5 MP camera. Both cameras offer burst mode, High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode and Panaroma mode. The G4 has the capability of taking videos in 4K.

Internally, both smartphones use Qualcomm processors. The Moto E uses the older Snapdragon 410 processor while the G4 uses the newer Snapdragon 808 processor. The Moto E comes with only 1 GB of RAM, and the G4 provides 3 GB of RAM. For storage, the Moto E offers 8 GB, but it is expandable with a microSD card up to 32 GB. The G4 starts at 32 GB of storage and can be expanded up to 128 GB.

Battery life will perform better on the Moto E because of its lower resolution and slower processor. The Moto E uses a 2,390 mAh battery, while the G4 uses a 3,000 mAh battery. Even with the slightly larger battery, the G4 must power its sharper screen and faster processor, so it will not beat the Moto E in battery life.

The G4 provides the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop software, while the Moto E is still using Android 5.0 Lollipop. Updates are coming soon to all smartphones, so Android 5.1 Lollipop will be coming soon to the Moto E.

The Moto E will lure buyers with its cheap price ($150) and great battery life, Engadget reports. However, those that demand a premium smartphone will definitely flock to the LG G4, even with its unlocked price of $649.
