After Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s triumph over Philippine fighter Manny Pacquiao was witnessed by tens of thousands of boxing fans at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas and by millions via satellite TV, the undefeated champion's next fight is now being talked about.

BoxingNews24 reports there's an increasing clamor for Mayweather to face WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin in a final bout before his retirement. Boxing fans are campaigning for Mayweather to fight the Kazakhstan boxer at 154 pounds, says the site.

However, the undefeated boxer's father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., refuses to go along with the tides.

Floyd Sr. wisely commented to Pro Boxing Insider that Golovkin, who stands taller at 5'10", will also be heavier. The senior Mayweather claims that a well rehydrated Golovkin could even weigh as much as 180 pounds after the weigh-in.

"I would say something about this GGG. GGG, hey, if GGG can make weight, that would be different, but no, no, we not fixin' to fight no damn giant. I'm gonna tell you like this right here. He comes down, he be at 154, by the time he eats and fight that night, maybe 180, you just don't know, man," he said in a video with Pro Boxing Insider. "People can eat up stuff, man, and hey. He don't need to fight nobody like that, man."

The weight advantage will make it more difficult for his son to combat Golovkin. But Floyd Sr. is positive his son could outmatch this giant.

"Now they say that Floyd won't beat him, but I'm just telling you because, the guy is probably just so big and strong, man," he added. "Floyd probably, all he would be doing is he'd take a lot of punches. He'd come in, Floyd would run the stuff off of him. But the whole thing is, it'd be a struggle, but Floyd probably could beat him. I can't say that he can't beat him."

Scott Christ of Bad Left Hook sees Mayweather Sr.'s point of not asking too much from his son. Although Money has already defeated Oscar de la Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez, Christ does not think the boxer should push "his physical limits."
