Zooey Deschanel's Hollywood Hills Home Quickly Gets A Buyer
"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel, who listed her Hollywood Hills home on the market for $2.195 million in early May, has already found a buyer, reports Realtor.com.
The actress bought the Hollywood Hills estate six years ago for $1.65 million from Mark Ruffalo, the actor playing the green-skinned "Hulk" from the "Avengers" franchise. However, Ruffalo profited nothing from the sale of his residence, according to Berg Properties.
On the other hand, Realtor.com notes that as soon as the deal closes, the "500 Days of Summer" actress will earn half a million dollars from it.
The soon-to-be owners of this 3000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home will get quite the house.
Built in the early 1930s, the three-bedroom residence, which was renovated recently, still gives a nostalgic feel of country-living, describes Realtor.com. The renovated blue-themed kitchen is equipped with a farmhouse sink and counters lined with marble materials. Other features of the home include exposed wood beams, wide and tall windows, pristine white walls, verdant living room, and fireplaces with a "woodsy" vibe.
The East Coast traditional-style home has two-and-a-half baths in the main residence, a full bath in the guest cottage, French doors, central air conditioning, a sun room and a separate breakfast room, adds Berg Properties. Outside, the grounds are well-maintained, perfect to host parties this summer. The home where Ruffalo once lived in also sits on almost a half-acre lot.
The actress is expecting her first child with her fiance, producer Jacob Pechenik, and it seems the couple is planning to raise their child in a Manhattan Beach, California, property which they recently bought for $4.5M, says Variety.
'New Girl' sans Deschanel?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "New Girl" creator Liz Meriwether admitted that the show's main star won't appear in four episodes, but she assured that the cast will be able to hold down the fort.
"The first episode without her is actually called 'No Girl.' I think in the first or second season, it would have been hard, but now it feels like this creative opportunity to learn more about the other characters. And it's a little bit of a challenge. People are going to be asking, 'How are they going to pull this off?' I'm kind of asking that question of myself. I directed the first episode without Zooey, that's the last one we shot this year, and it's really funny. It's a guys' episode. It's an opportunity to stretch ourselves... Or it will be a total disaster, and then she'll come back," Meriwether said.
