The Season 2 finale of the “The Blacklist” airs this Thursday, and the episode, titled "Masha Rostova," will pave the way for next season’s psychological escapades.

Spoilers Guide reports the finale will provide Liz (Megan Boone) with some long sought after answers as she comes to recall suppressed childhood memories that have so far eluded her.

"In the season finale Liz (Megan Boone) realizes she is being framed by The Cabal forcing Red (James Spader) to use his connections to help her clear her name," according to Spoilers Guide. "As Cooper (Harry Lennix) receives shocking news, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) Samar (Mozhan Marno) and Aram (Amir Arison) must decide who on the task force can still be trusted."

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Eggold, who plays Tom Keen, a covert operative and Liz’s duplicitous love interest, explained his character is at a crucial point as the season comes to its end.

"His experience with Liz has caught up with him [emotionally] in a way that no other experience has, and he wants to figure out who the hell he is, which is really fun to be playing a character in a moment of soul-searching," Eggold said.

Eggold adds that Tom really wants to try to normalize his life and see what it's like to have real relationships. Tom is trying to see what it's like to care for someone.

"I think what's interesting about where the show is at right now and where we're going, is that I think there's a lot of answers coming right now," said the 30-year-old actor, whose previous credits include a stint on the CW reboot of “90210.”

Assessing the spirit of the series, Eggold said, "The first season and most of the second season has been about questions. ... I think we're getting to a place where we're answering a lot of that, and it feels like the right time to do so."

The season finale of “The Blacklist” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
