In what is perhaps the most delicately gruesome show on television, NBC's "Hannibal" left last season on a gigantic cliffhanger that spoke volumes about the world created by author Thomas Harris in his first novel of the Hannibal Lector series, "Red Dragon," as reported by MoviePilot.

The previous two seasons have focused less on that book though, and more on the life and career of Hannibal Lector before the events of "Red Dragon," giving each episode a fantastically dreadful, delicacy type name, which plays off Lector's carnivorous human diet.

But Season 3, which premieres on June 4 at 10 p.m., will be taking an alternate approach, splitting into two parts. The first half of the the season finds Lector and his psychiatrist, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson), posing as a married couple in Europe and he even continues his bloody spree while there, according to International Business Times.

The first half of the season has been dubbed as "Bride of Hannibal," according to a teaser trailer. But it is the second half of the season where the series finally reaches the true essence of the original story, as Lector will finally be arrested by Will Graham and locked up.

As stated by Movie Pilot, the second half of the season will take such an emotional and physical toll on Will that he retires from the F.B.I. But apparently, Jack Crawford hits a new wall when a new serial killer, dubbed the "Tooth Fairy," comes out of the woodwork.

Crawford reluctantly coerces Graham out of retirement so that he can start visiting with Hannibal in prison to help him solve the new serial killings. Will, at this point, has established roots and started a family.

Lector helps Will establish a new connection and put the pieces of the Tooth Fairy killings together with Francis Dolarhyde. But Lector has also somehow given the Tooth Fairy Will's new address, which in turn jeopardizes his own family.

This also attracts the attention of tabloid journalist Freddy Lounds, who, we will soon find out, should have stayed behind the curtains.
