ABC released the official description for the upcoming second season of "Agent Carter" at the 2015 ABC Upfronts, Spoilers Guide reports.

The Season 2 description reveals Agent Carter, who is played by Hayley Atwell, will continue her fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II in Los Angeles.

Season 1 of "Agent Carter" featured the SSR secret agent taking on various assignments while living in New York.

However, in Season 2, Agent Peggy Carter will make a big move and will face her most dangerous assignment yet, according to a description provided by Spoilers Guide.

The description adds that agent Carter will also make new friends and find a new love in the upcoming season but she will also learn that post-war Hollywood is a more sinister threat to everyone she vowed to protect.

Cinema Blend reports that the second season of "Agent Carter" will maintain its midseason show status as it did for Season 1. "Agent Carter" will be replacing the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." time slot while it goes on hiatus in January.

Although ABC has yet to confirm how many episodes "Agent Carter" will get next season, Cinema Blend suggests that Season 2 will also be a total of eight episodes.

CB also speculates that "Agent Carter's" season two might feature a new cast since the show's Season 1 characters, such as James D'Arcy's Edwin Jarvis or Lyndsy Fonseca's Angie Martinelli were not mentioned in the description.

"It could be that the main cast of Agent Carter Season 2 will consist of new people, but we may see guest appearances from several established characters, similar to how Howard Stark was used this past season," Cinema Blend's Adam Holmes added.

Since the description makes mention of a new love interest entering agent Carter's life in Season 2, viewers can expect to see tensions rise between Carter and her Season 1 beau, Daniel Sousa.

An "Agent Carter" Season 2 premiere date has yet to be announced.
