WWE 2K16 Release Date & Rumors: Bill Goldberg Joining 2K16 Roster?
WWE 2K16 is one of the highly anticipated games from 2K Sports. While no official announcement has been made by the developer and WWE regarding the upcoming title, some reports have circulated that it would have the biggest roster, which might include Bill Goldberg.
Rumors of WWE 2K16 started when it was announced that 2K would no longer have additional updates for the current WWE 2K15. Community Manager for WWE Games Marcus Stephenson took to the game's official forum to make the announcement.
"Hey everyone - sorry for the delay, but I wanted to be 100% sure," wrote Stephenson. "I have confirmed with our dev team that there will be no more updates/patches for WWE 2K15. The team is hard at work building for the future, and all feedback in this thread and on this forum will be taken into account in the building process."
While not too many details have been released about the upcoming title, Zack Ryder, female wrestlers Sasha Banks and Rosa Mendes revealed their participation in the game through Twitter.
I also got full body scanned by @WWEgames. I was in nothing but my Elf boxers. #Awkward Hopefully I’m in the next game. #WrestleMania

@Stratusphere777 yes I will be:) — Rosa Mendes (@LaRosaMendes) April 2, 2015
Even renowned wrestling commentator and announcer Jim Ross was said to be "on board" for the upcoming title, according to Gameranx.
Aside from these four, rumors have cropped up recently that retired wrestling superstar Bill Goldberg could also join the star-studded roster.
Goldberg has not hidden the fact that he was not happy in WWE during his time there. He even assured fans in an interview with FOX Sports that should he return to the sport, it wouldn't be at the WWE.
However in early May, the 48-year old appeared in an episode of ESPN's SportsNation where he hinted of his possible participation in WWE 2K16.
In his interview with the hosts of the segment, he admitted that he was being "politically correct" and keeping a tight lid on his mouth regarding WWE. The wrestler revealed that his reason for that is because he has been waiting for a video game contract, presumably WWE 2K16.
Because 2K is developing the game, it is possible for Goldberg to be included on the roster even if he is not an active WWE employee. 2K has yet to make an announcement regarding additional players on the roster and it remains to be seen if Goldberg would be added.
WWE 2K16 is reportedly coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in the fourth quarter of this year.
