Samantha Bee Daily Show: Comedian Says She's 'Done With Sausages' in New Late Night Show Teaser [Watch]
There has been an auspicious response to the long awaited presence of a woman on late night television, which has been notoriously dominated by white men over the years.
"Daily Show" veteran correspondent Samantha Bee wrapped up her stint on the satirical comedy driven news program with a touching departure featuring herself and Jon Stewart at the end of the show.
But now, she has taken her comedy across to a new cable network on TBS, according to MSNBC.
A new trailer has been released by TBS for her new show, which features Bee looking at pictures in art gallery that show the faces of other late night hosts, such as Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers and Jimmy Kimmel. Her former co-star, Stephen Colbert, was also present.
When presented with a plate of sausages to choose from, in its various incarnations and heritages as playfully montaged over shots of her rival hosts, Bee simply said that she is "kind of done with sausages" then comically says she is "female as f**k."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the promotional spot premiered at the annual upfront presentation for Turner Broadcasting Group.
Lack of diversity in the cable and broadcast networks wide-range of shows has been a public vocal point for the industry's male driven shows. Their programming and hiring practices have been notoriously dominated by white male personalities, which has led them to harrowing scrutiny.
Bee was a 12-year veteran correspondent on the "Daily Show" before she left. Her husband Jason Jones left the show earlier this year and now both are sharing executive producer credits for this new venture, which has been paired alongside "Conan" on the network after failed attempts by George Lopez and Pete Holmes.
