Justin Bieber didn't beat records with his 2013 release of Believe but he did beat one record... well, kind of. Justin and Katy Perry were at the top of the list of the top 10 Twitter gainers in 2013. JB made it second on the list while Katy Perry must have gotten really interesting because she got a bunch of new followers this year.

Katy's "Roar" must have been heard loud and clear because people really took a liking to the pop star. She gained 15 million followers just in 2013. Maybe it's her hot new relationship with John Mayer that poked some curiosity into those jealous female fans of his. Either way... Katy... you won!

Justin Bieber has much to celebrate as he says goodbye to 2013 with 13.8 million new followers. Yes, he is at the number two spot but at least he is at the top of the list. This is actually great news, proving that Bieber still hasn't lost his "mojo." He is still gaining new fans even through all of his shenanigans.

You know what? People love controversy and since celebrities turn to their social networks before they talk to a reporter, followers are the first ones to learn the business. This way you won't miss any pics of new tattoos or any subliminal messages to Selena Gomez. We hope to see more successful records from Justin this year and less drama, drama, drama.

Other famous people who gained an impressive number of followers this year were President Barak Obama in third place, Taylor Swift in fourth place, Justin Timberlake in fifth place and Jennifer Lopez in sixth place. Harry Styles still made it to the top 10 but in tenth place... seems odd huh? I thought people really liked his hair and stuff.

Don't worry, Biebs, you have an entire year to make it to the number one spot again. Just make sure you sing a lot, and put a shirt on once in a while so you leave something to the imagination.
