Raheem Sterling wants out of Liverpool.

Or, at least that is what the recent reports are indicating.

Goal.com states that the Englishman refused to sign a new contract from Liverpool worth around 100,000 pounds per week.

That, of course, bodes poorly for the English side who saw Luis Suarez run off after a second-place finish in 2013-14. Moreover, the team will lose legend Steven Gerrard this summer and many believed that Sterling would be the new face of the franchise.

It looks like that dream will not be realized.

Gerrard recently urged the 20-year-old to reconsider his stance and remain with the club.

"Of course I'm biased but my advice to Raheem now is you have a manager who will believe in you and you can learn from and there is no one better than Brendan Rodgers for that," said Gerrard. "He should sign a new deal here. Brendan is a fantastic man manager and puts a lot of time and effort into the development of an individual. The danger for these young players is they want it all too soon and they go chasing it. Then they go to another club and just become a number."

Sterling has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, which will surely be an appetizing prospect for the youngster.

However, Sterling might have to think long and hard about making said move, regardless of how appetizing it might seem. Youngsters such as Isco, Asier Illarramendi, Jese Rodriguez and even Raphael Varane have struggled to find consistent playing time with the Spanish giants. Sterling would probably fit into that group of players that rode the pine for most of the season.

He scored seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, but many believe his ceiling calls for more production.
