'BoJack Horseman' Season 2 Release Date & Spoilers: Characters Set to Return in Mid-July, BoJack Works on Secretariat Biopic
The highly anticipated "BoJack Horseman" Season 2 is now set to premiere in mid-July exclusively on Netflix.
The first season of the animated adult comedy, which debuted in last August, saw BoJack, a washed-up '90s sitcom star, "horsin' around" in a mess of self-hate, drinking and failed romances.
According to the press release, via The Wrap, the upcoming season is all about the protagonist getting his stuff together, even starring in his dream movie (a biopic of Secretariat) but humbled by his past experiences. He takes the opportunity as "a stepladder to a springboard to becoming a newer, better BoJack."
However, not everything goes so smoothly for Horseman, as he is bound to face new challenges with his old self pulling him back to where he was.
"If Season 1 of 'BoJack Horseman' is about a character learning he needs to change, the new season is about whether or not he can," the statement read. "There are lots of surprise guest stars and funny talking animal jokes."
"Arrested Development" star Will Arnett will voice BoJack again, and "Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul will reprise his freeloading roommate, Todd Chavez.
The all-star cast also includes Amy Sedaris ("Chef") as Horseman's agent and on-again, off-again girlfriend Princess Carolyn, Alison Brie ("Community") as his ghostwriter Diane Nguyen and Paul F. Tompkins (HBO's "Mr. Show with Bob and David") as his frenemy Mr. Peanutbutter.
The popular animated series is executive produced by creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen and Noel Bright, as well as Arnett and Paul. It is designed by graphic artist Lisa Hanawalt and animated by Los Angeles-based ShadowMachine.
Do not miss all 12 new episodes of "BoJack Horseman" Season 2, which is scheduled to air on July 17 at 12:01 a.m. PST exclusively on Netflix.
