The comedy "Wet Hot American Summer" is slated to be making a comeback.

"Wet Hot American Summer," first released in 2001, was a spoof flick about camp counselors and the tawdry shenanigans they pull on each other, which included adultery, careless sex, drug addiction and science fiction themes.

According to Indiewire, a comeback run on Netflix is on its way. It will feature nearly all of the original cast members, who at the time were still trying to make a name for themselves in the industry. But they have all come back to film an eight-episode series for Netflix, which will be a prequel to the original film titled "First Day of Camp."

The original film was about the last day of camp and all the over-the-top stunts that camp counselors are clichéd to do, all in one day (and night).

It does seem sort of weird, though, the actors are all coming back to play younger versions of themselves -- 15 years ago. They will reprising their roles with the series playing out on the first day of camp from the same camping season they filmed for the first movie.

Producers have touted that they have brought back nearly everyone from the film, which includes Michael Showalter, Ken Marino, Joe Lo Truglio, Molly Shannon, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Marguerite Moreau, Janeane Garofalo and Paul Rudd.

All of these stars have gone on to make quite a name for themselves in the industry, which includes Cooper who recently wowed audiences everywhere with his portrayal of Chris Kyle in the Clint Eastwood film "American Sniper," which went on to gross over $300 million in the U.S. alone.

TVLine also reports that the film will be adding Jon Hamm, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Jason Schwartzman, Josh Charles and Michaela Watkins to the cast. This all-star lineup of comedy veterans, coupled with the original stars, is sure to be a mega-hit for Netflix.
