‘Suicide Squad’ Cast & Spoilers: New Photos Show Jared Leto’s Joker Physique
“Suicide Squad” is still in production in Toronto, but fans have been itching to know more about the DC film’s cast and how they will look like once in full costume. Thankfully for the fans, plenty of on-set and off-set photos have been leaked on the Internet, some showing the actors in full gear.
A new picture of Leto, which Valentina Popova submitted to Screen Rant, has recently surfaced. In the photo, the actor can be seen enjoying a bike ride in New York City. Leto has clearly physically modified his body for his new role.

Just Jared recently published a couple of set photos featuring Leto as The Joker, while he was filming with Margot Robbie who stars as Harley Quinn in the movie. The images show Leto wearing his costume and sporting the character's iconic tattoos.
The Oscar winner's Instagram page also shows photos of how he purposely gained weight for his role in the DC Cinematic Universe, otherwise coined as DCU. The actor is known for his dedication in preparing for his roles, even if he has to go through drastic physical changes. He lost an impressive amount of muscle mass for his Oscar-winning role in "Dallas Buyers Club."
The Joker may have been known more as a relatively skinny character, but “Suicide Squad” seemed to have gotten its Clown Prince look from Frank Miller’s version in “The Dark Knight Returns,” where The Joker appeared to possess a more buff body, according to Screen Rant.
This physique makes his fight with Deadshot, as featured in the recent animated DC film, “Batman: Assault on Arkham,” more interesting and believable, Screen Rant explained.
The Joker actually does not need to be extremely buff in order to overpower his foes, primarily since he usually relies on his dirty, ingenious tricks and tactics to beat them. Still, the added muscle mass would not hurt his odds when it comes to squaring off with the heroes, as well as his fellow villains, in the DC universe.
The Joker may not have what it takes to completely out-muscle Batman in a direct, head-to-head, physical encounter, but he can surely give the Caped Crusader a lot of trouble – as he usually does in the comics.
More set photos can be seen on Comic Book Movie's website.
