Auditions could be unnerving even for Hollywood A-listers, but actor Shia LaBeouf proves he could take on any challenge, even if it involves his private parts.

Daily News reports that while the Transformers star was auditioning for the lead role in Nymphomaniac, he received a strange request from the film's producers: for him to send in a photo of his penis. He gamely agreed and needless to say, he got the part for the film.

In a taped interview for the production, LaBeouf recounts, "The first info we got - and I'll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such fear - the first request from the production end, not Lars, was for pictures of my penis," according to The Independent.

LaBeouf is no stranger to nudity. In June 2013, he did a full monty for a music video of Sigur Ros, an Icelandic band. His nude performance for the band's song, "Fjogur Piano," actually caught the attention of director Lars Von Trier, so much so that Shia ended up short listed for a role.

The actor recounts, "Lars goes, 'Send him the letter. The letter was, 'Are you game?' I guess the first test was, 'Let's time how long it takes this motherf---er to send his d-ck over the Internet.' It was like 20 minutes; they were like, 'All right, kid's ready,'" reports Toronto Sun.

In August, the 27-year-old actor jokingly revealed to Chelsea Handler that he wanted to land the Nymphomaniac role so badly, he sent in sex tapes of him and his girlfriend making love. Handler and her audience couldn't tell at the time if the actor had revealed the truth, as he flashed an OK sign to the audience with a straight face, according to Daily News.

The former Disney wonder plays the role of Jerome, a major character in the life of a nymphomaniac (Charlotte Gainsbourg) whose sexual exploits, from birth to 50 years old, is chronicled in the film. The movie also stars Uma Thurman, Christian Slater and Stellan Skarsgard.

Nymphomaniac, Lars Von Trier's controversial movie, is filmed in two parts and set to be released in the United States on March 18 and April 21 this year. It had been released in Denmark last year on Christmas Day, December 25, and has earned rave reviews, scoring major nominations in Denmark's prestigious Bodil Awards, slated to be held on February 1.
