Ellen DeGeneres could soon be pulling the plug on her own long-running career.

With her marriage reportedly in tatters, Radar reports DeGenere's wife, Portia De Rossi, is now pressuring her to walk away from the limelight and dedicate more time to putting their marriage and family back on track.

"Ellen's contract is up in 2017, and she has told her staff that she does not know if she is going to renew it," a source said of the show that has aired since 2003 and is one of daytime's longest-running gabfests with already 165 episodes.

"Everyone on the staff is just freaking out over this."

The 42-year-old De Rossi recently entered rehab to deal with an addiction to drugs and alcohol and show staffers insist when she comes to the studio now she isn't nearly as nice as she once was.

"She seems to really resent the show and everyone who works there," the source added. Over the years, DeGeneres has already grossed in access of $200 million doing the show, a point De Rossi is also rumored to be hammering home to her.

"Ellen does not need to do the show anymore because she has more money than God," the source said. "And Portia told her that she has already interviewed everyone there is to interview and the act just seems to be getting old."

Even if the 57-year-old DeGeneres were to walk away, the couple still may not be headed for a life of happier ever after.

Back in May, Radar reported the two engaged in a nasty, public dispute where DeGeneres screamed and berated De Rossi in front of company.

"Ellen's team came to do her hair, and Portia asked them if they wanted water. ... Ellen ripped into her, screaming, 'Don't offer them water! We offered,'" an insider revealed.

Reports are DeGeneres has long controlled her wife, with one source adding, "No one knows why she puts up with it. Their relationship is so unhealthy."
