During a recent interview with REAL 92.3, 50 cent put down Tidal, a newly launched streaming service developed by Jay Z, the Wrap reports.

During the show's "The Realest" segment, 50 cent got candid and revealed he was never invited to join Jay Z's long roster of artists affiliated with Tidal.

50 then went on describe Tidal as a "mistake" because he claims that unlike himself, the artists associated with Tidal do not own the rights to their music, and therefore, would not fully profit from Tidal's sales.

"They probably could've did something more exciting if they reached out, because the people you saw there don't even own the rights to their music," 50 cent said. "So they can't say it's gonna come out of Tidal. It has to go everywhere. So why would you actually buy Tidal to get something that would be everywhere else?"

The Wrap reports that Madonna, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Deadmau5 and Beyonce are among the many artists involved in Tidal's recent launch.

But according to 50, none of those artists will profit from Tidal because it is the record companies that those artists are signed to that will ultimately make the decision of where their music will stream.

"[The companies] have contracts and companies are gonna do everything to get the maximum performance out of the music. They're not gonna just put it through Tidal as a service," 50 said.

50 also suggested Jay Z's partnership with those various artists was a strategic plan because they are celebrities that are currently buzzing in media and would draw audiences to subscribe to Tidal.

In addition to slamming Tidal, 50 once again criticized Fox's "Empire" for copying the promotional campaign for his series "Power," which airs on the Starz network.

Though 50 accused FOX of "stealing," he did wish the actors on the show much success.

"['Empire'] did steal the idea," he said.

"But the cast, the talent that's on there, I want to see them be successful. My first film, I worked with Terrence Howard, he's the leader of the show, I want to see him have success. And then Taraji [P. Henson], she's cool. ... I might have to date her."
