Adele Hot New '25' Album Release 2015: 'Skyfall' Singer Reportedly Records 'Spectre' Theme Track
While fans are anxiously awaiting her third studio album, Adele has reportedly recorded the theme track for the new James Bond movie, "Spectre."
The British artist won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Brit Award for singing the soundtrack to the previous 007 film, "Skyfall (2012)." She also performed the number at the Oscars in February 2013.
According to Daily Star, Adele was among several artists – which included Sam Smith, Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Faith – who were being considered for the 24th Bond flick's title song; film company Eon Productions chose her to do the honors.
"Adele was just one of a few artists asked to write and record the title track for 'Spectre,'" a source revealed. "Sam Smith was the favorite to be picked among insiders, but Adele has got the nod."
"It is huge pressure for her after the unbelievable success of 'Skyfall,'" the source added. "It is a massive scoop for the film, too, as the world awaits her third hugely delayed album."
Adele supposedly recorded the upcoming track in Los Angeles earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the "Someone Like You" hitmaker has reportedly delayed her highly anticipated record, which is rumored to be titled "25," once again.
Earlier this month, Daily Star reported Adele pushed her album release back because she wanted to go on a road trip with 2-year-old son Angelo to Nashville, Tennessee. She wanted to be able to visit bars, teach him some of the town's history and do whatever she wanted.
A source also revealed to The Mirror that fans might have to wait until this September to finally hear the "Set Fire to the Rain" crooner's latest project, as she wanted to make the perfect LP.
Adele is indeed taking her time, as she has yet to choose the executive producer for the follow-up to 2011's "21," according to Daily Star.
Producer Emile Haynie, who previously worked with Kanye West and Bruno Mars, told the publication that he met with the "Chasing Pavements" singer in February to discuss the possibility of collaborating on the forthcoming effort.
"Adele was awesome, but I don't know if we'll be working together," he said. "I hope we can cut some songs, but Adele is taking her time."
Hayni said he really wanted it to happen, but that he does not have any word on how it will play out.
