New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford figured in a car accident in New Jersey on Monday morning.

The Giants player escaped the frightening incident unharmed, ESPN reported.

Weatherford himself gave an account of the events that he "will never forget" on his Instagram account.

He began his day with a visit to his newly-born daughter, JJ, at a San Diego medical facility. Being a committed NFL athlete, he decided to board a plane to Newark so he could attend the Giants' organized team activities this offseason.

The player then shared how the turn of events became "crazy." He posted that his flight to Newark was cancelled due to the bad weather and had to be rerouted to Washington. To make it in time for his OTAs, he rented a car.

"3 hours into my trip at 3:30am I run into a massive body of water on the NJ turnpike, I hydroplane, slam into the median, get blasted in the face by the air bags. My rental is totaled, and I walked out without a scratch," wrote Weatherford.

The player was extremely grateful for having survived the car crash unscathed.

"I am feeling so incredibly blessed. Not only has God given my family and I a beautiful, healthy 10 pound baby girl. He sent his guardian angels to keep my car from flipping and possibly dying," Weatherford added.

Weatherford also thanked the people who aided him in the crucial moment of his life when he called 911. "So I want to give a #GIANT thank you to Officer Adam Brozek and his partner Officer Kim Smith for coming to my aid in my time of need, and going that extra step further for driving me 45 miles home," he added.

The new dad and professional football player still made it into his team's OTAs despite the things that happened to him.

Then, the Giants' punter posted a photo showing the only visible mark the crash left him, a busted lip, although he also mentioned having some cuts and a burn, too.
