“Descendants,” an upcoming Disney Channel original movie, will show how life has been like for the Disney world’s protagonists beyond “happily ever after.”

In a report, Entertainment Weekly pointed out that while the families of Disney’s heroes, princes, and princesses lived the good lives that they were entitled to have, in the movie, the descendants of the infamous villains, such as Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Jafar, were sent out to live their lives on "The Isle of the Lost" meant for misfits.

The villain's children will be introduced to a normal life at a prep school in the kingdom of Auradon for the very first time, upon the request of Prince Ben, son of King Beast and Queen Belle.

Being descendants of known Disney bad guys, there's a possibility that the children from the forbidden island may follow the footsteps of their parents. But it will be up to them to decide which side to take – whether they want to be bad like their ancestors, or deviate from the clan and be good.

Maleficent, played by Kristin Chenoweth, quickly gave her daughter Mal, played by Dove Cameron from “Liv and Maddie,” a task after knowing that her child will be staying in Auradon.

“Go find the Fairy Godmother,” Maleficent ordered, as seen in the trailer. “Bring me back her magic wand. I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!” The Evil Queen, played by Kathy Najimy, immediately chimed in, “OUR will.” Now, it is up to her daughter Mal to weigh her options, whether she should help her mother wreak havoc on the peaceful land or not.

When these new kids on the block have finally made their way to their new school, as expected, their parents’ bad reputation had already preceded them. “You're Maleficent’s daughter, aren’t you?” A school mate asks Mal, sarcastically. “I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff.” It looks like things are not off to a good start for this gang of villain children.

Sofia Carson from “Austin & Ally” will be playing Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen. This fruit fell far from the tree as Carson has revealed that her character will realize “her mom was wrong,” according to Kidzworld.

“I feel so lucky to be able to tell this story,” Carson said. “Evie is caught in this trap of being her mother’s daughter – being in her mother’s shadow her whole life – that what defined her was her reflection in her mirror. She gets to know herself for the first time. There is so much more than what she sees in the mirror – that she is strong, independent, and actually, smart.”

“Descendants” will be premiering on Friday, July 31, on Disney Channel.
