Latin Grammys 2015 Date, Nominees & News: Award Show Coming to Las Vegas Nov. 19, Nominees Will be Announced in September
The 2015 Latin Grammys are coming to Las Vegas Nov. 19.
The show, which will broadcast live on Univision, will be held at the MGM Grand, Billboard reported.
This is the 16th Annual Latin Grammy show. Since the show's creation in 2000, it has been held in Las Vegas eight times. This will be the second time it will be held at the MGM Grand.
The nominees for the show are not yet known, but they will be announced in Spetember. The nominees will come via a "digital nominations" announcement.
After the announcement, more events leading up to the Latin Grammys will take place. There will be Latin Grammy Street Parties, the Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions and the Latin Grammy in the schools.
During the week of the Latin Grammys, there will be the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Gala and the Special Awards Presentation. The Special Awards Presentation will honor lifetime achievement winners and other distinguished Latin music performers.
The first Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions will take place on the same day as the announcements, Sept. 23, with a show in Los Angeles. More Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions will take place on Oct. 8 in New York, Oct. 22 in Dallas and Nov. 5 in Miami.
The Latin Grammy Street Parties will kick off with the first one being held on Oct. 18 in Los Angeles. The next will take place on Oct. 25 in Dallas, and the final one will be held on Nov. 8 in Miami.
Latin Grammy in the schools programs will be held on various dates in both Puerto Rico and Las Vegas.
According to the Latin Grammy's official website, the Special Awards Presentation and the 2015 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute gala will both be held on Nov. 18 in Las Vegas.
Last year's Latin Grammy for Record of the Year went to Jorge Drexler featuring Ana Tijoux for the record "Universos Paralelos."
