'Mission: Impossible 5' News Update: Six News Posters and New Trailer Unveil Plot Details
Paramount has released six new posters and a new trailer for its upcoming "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation."
The posters showcase Tom Cruise as his character Ethan Hunt as well as Jeremy Renner as William Brandt. Alec Baldwin also appears in one of the posters and the image shows him as a possible villain. IMDb does not have a character name so it will be interesting to see what part he plays in this installment. Sean Harris also has a poster and it seems like he will be a villain in this film as well.
Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames also have posters and all the new banners have the slogan "Go Rogue."
Meanwhile, the trailer showcases a number of action sequences and stunts that bring the franchise to a new level. Additionally, it features a number of comic moments.
The latest installment is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is expected to be one of the big hits of the month of July.
Paramount has built the hype slowly and, based on the trailers it has released, the film has already impressed audiences. Back in April, Paramount showed footage at CinemaCon which had everyone praising it.
"Rogue Nation" has a difficult task as it must surpass the last installment, which was not only a box office hit but also a critical hit. "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" made $209 million at the box office and over $694 million worldwide. It scored a 93 percent aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is the highest rating of any film in the franchise.
"Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" tells the story of Ethan and his team who take on their most impossible mission yet: Eradicating the Syndicate -- an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF. The film was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who directed Cruise in "Jack Reacher" and wrote "Edge of Tomorrow. The film also stars Pegg and Simon McBurney.
The film is set to open on July 31 alongside "Vacation" and "The End of the Tour."
