Netflix News: Recently Added Horror Movies You Can Stream Right Now
June is generally set aside as the unofficial kick-off for Netflix season.
Every year, kids, adults and people of all different ages have flooded the bandwidths of their neighborhoods with binge-watching habits due to summer vacations and basic summer freedoms.
And though it's not near Halloween, there are plenty of horror movies that have been added to the streaming service. According to The Blood Shed, these are the flicks added on June 1.
"Out of the Dark" is a 2014 flick about a family who moves to South America to take over a manufacturing facility for the wife's father. They soon fall victim to child ghosts and uncover a dark history about the company.
"Dead Snow" has been a horror fan favorite for quite some time now since its release in 2009. This film features the exploits of friends who take up on a retreat in the wilderness, only to be terrorized by Nazi Zombies.
"The Island of Dr. Moreau: Director's Cut" was released in 1977 and is about a scientist's successful cross-breeding of human and animal DNA. The original was rated "R."
"Kidnapped" is a 2010 film about a family in Madrid who falls victim to violent thugs in their home. The wife and daughter stay home with a deranged maniac while the other escorts the husband to the bank for a sizable withdraw.
"'The Others" stars Nicole Kidman as a mother of two children who are allergic to sunlight. They are terrorized by the presence of "other" beings, and her children may fall victim to them. It also has a grandiose twist. The movie was released in 2001.
"Pet Sematary" is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. The 1989 film centers around a doctor and his family who live next to a Native-American burial ground. People or animals buried there come back from the dead as changed, vengeful beings.
"Pet Sematary 2" is a follow up to the first film, but this time with a widowed veterinarian and his son. This sequel was released in 1992.
"R.L. Stine's Mostly Ghostly" from 2007 and "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It" from 2007 are light scare films for younger audiences by the "Goosebumps" author.
"Repo! The Genetic Opera" is set in the year 2056 and centers around the repossession of organs from people who missed their payments. The movie, which stars Alexa Penavega and Paris Hilton, was released in 2007.
"Troll" is a 1986 flick about a young girl from a family that gets possessed by a troll and his kingdom.
"Troll 2" is a follow up to the previous film, which was released in 1990.
Other titles will be added throughout the month.
