'Fifty Shades Darker' Cast & News: Jamie Dornan Avoids Twitter so His Fame Doesn't Seem 'Palpable'
In Jamie Dornan's "Fifty Shades of Grey" induced world you stand a much better chance of functioning as a normal human being if you can avoid getting too caught up in the world of Twitter.
And as such, ever since the promotional blitz for his aforementioned hit film passed, Dornan's presence on the social platform has been comparatively nonexistent.
E! Online reports the 33-year-old Northern Irish actor admitted he's been actively trying to avoid the medium of late, adding all his newfound fame "doesn't feel palpable until you're online."
Dornan later added only when he's on the web does he "suddenly just feel . . . like it's real, that there are all these people who are interested in what you're doing."
While Dornan says he and his family live a pretty normal and quiet life in their day-to-day existence, he noted he senses getting too caught up in the electronic age can have major consequences.
"There's obviously a bit more interest and you notice people whisper here and there," he admitted. "But it's not out of control at this stage, I'm pleased to say."
More importantly, in Dornan's view, it doesn't cause nearly all the headaches one can encounter by overindulging in the world of social media.
"I step back from all of that," he said. "It's unhealthy."
At least two more "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequels are planned, and The Hollywood Reporter notes both Dornan and Dakota Johnson have signed on to star in them. The original film is reported to have grossed some $570 million worldwide at the box office.
Open Road Films also recently announced the company acquired "Fifty Shades of Black," a spoof of the film that will star prankster Marlon Wayans and is slated for release in late January 2016.
