Winona Ryder let the cat out of the bag earlier this year when she spoke with HuffPost Live in regards to a "Beetlejuice 2" film happening.

Although news of this has been swirling around for quite some time, this is the first time news of the film has gone from "maybe" to "happening."

"As far as I now, It's gonna happen," Ryder said in the interview, which she was there for to promote her movie "Experimenter" along with co-star Peter Sarsgaard, who politely took a back seat when the "Beetlejuice" subject came up by the host.

Although Ryder was very shaky with the details of the film, she reluctantly let out that the movie is gonna happen, which is a big plus for fans considering we have heard from star Michael Keaton, who played the title character, and director Tim Burton expressing positive sentiment toward a follow up to the film.

Entertainment Weekly reports Seth Grahame-Smith has been tapped to write the new "Beetlejuice" movie along with several other '80s movie remakes.

"[Burton] was doing press for 'Big Eyes' right before the holiday, and was getting the 'Beetlejuice' question, and sort of tipped people off that Winona [Ryder] would be back. Which yes, she will be back," Grahame-Smith told EW. "I think we landed on the right idea, landed on the right approach. It's just now making sure that -- for me -- I don't want to shit my pants in front of the entire world making a sequel to one of my favorite movies."

Although the details of the movie haven't officially been finalized yet, he did involve some major points that tell us the film is a go for all the key players, which comes after Michael Keaton's Golden Globe Award win and Academy Award nomination for his role in the film "Birdman."

"I've emailed with Michael Keaton. I know he's excited about the idea," Grahame-Smith said. "I know Tim is excited about the idea. Where it stands now is Tim's got to get ready to make ['Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children'], and then hopefully we are set, deals are done, and we're waiting in the wings ready to go right after 'Peregrine's' wraps up. The ideal timeline is we're really getting into it toward the end of this year."
