Marvel has already been doing work on network television with "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." on ABC and most recently with Netflix on "Daredevil." But rest assured, according to Heroic Hollywood, that Marvel still has complete control over its content and shows.

Doing "Daredevil" on Netflix actually gave Marvel an opportunity to spread its wings more, due to it being outside FCC control, which removes the network censors. ABC might have one of its shows, but that doesn't give them control over the brand.

So with that in mind, Marvel is set to invade the television universe via streaming on Netflix. This includes upcoming series like "AKA Jessica Jones," "Defenders," "Elektra," and a few more that have been rumored including "Punisher," "Blade" and "Ghost Rider."

This is all a part of what has been termed Netflix Phase II by the Marvel heads.

"AKA Jessica Jones" will share quite frequently with the "Daredevil" universe with special crossovers and possibly special "events," as coined by the network television industry. Although "Daredevil" has been greenlit for Season 2, it may be awhile before it premieres.

The rumors about "Blade" and "Ghost Rider" are not confirmed yet because Netflix has some concerns about how much CGI would be involved in creating the supernatural elements inherent on both shows. Of course, that didn't stop Netflix from producing "Hemlock Grove," so there may be plenty of wiggle room.

There is also speculation about limited series, or mini-series, that involve the "Avenger" characters of "Hawkeye" and "Black Widow" on Netflix. These may also be billed as "events" for the new streaming platform's version.

Either way you look at it, though, Marvel is leaning heavily in the direction of Netflix for its upcoming Phase II of the Marvel TV Universe. That will give them even more control and a comparable budget. This also pushes out any potential network mandates set forth by broadcast and cable networks, even those that are present on HBO and Showtime. Non-linear streaming and full creative control seems to be the underlying prerequisite for its new palate of shows.
