'The Originals' Executive Producer Julie Plec Releases New Novel During Summer Hiatus
While TV fans of "The Originals" anxiously await the series to kick off Season 3 on The CW next fall, in the interim they can look forward to a brand new book about the dysfunctional Mikaelson clan this summer.
According to Hypable, the show's executive producer, Julie Plec, is releasing a new book to add to "The Originals: The Untold Story" trilogy, which is tiled "The Originals The Untold Story: The Resurrection."
The final book in Plec's three-novel series will allow readers to delve into new adventures involving the Mikaelson siblings and their quests for love and power. The novel will also dive into the Mikaelson family's history in New Orleans.
In addition to offering fans relief during the show's three to four month hiatus, Hypable states that the novel will give readers "exactly the kind of story" that they want.
"The structure of the story will keep you remembering that something goes awry in their plans. The prologue does its job, as it will re-appear in your mind at the most opportune moment, providing the reader a glance at the future Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah only wish they had," the website explained.
During a recent interview with The Wrap's "Drinking with the Stars," series star Daniel Gillies revealed that the Elijah and Klaus brotherly feud will become more intense in Season 3. According to Gillies, who plays Elijah, Elijah will be furious that his brother cast a spell on the woman that he loves.
"I think the rift between them is going to precipitate the chain of events," the actor said.
"It's not just a begrudging alliance now -- it's an alliance on its last thread of trust," he added.
He went on to say that the brothers will not patch up their relationship anytime soon as their bitter conflict is "the fundamental problem of the entire show."
