Bruno Mars Super Bowl 2014: Singer Invites Group To Join Halftime Show Performance
It is not yet clear whether this year's Super Bowl will be cold -- since it will be in New York -- but one thing is for sure: it will be entertaining.
The biggest football game of the year will not only come with a performance by Bruno Mars but also the Red Hot Chili Peppers, according to an announcement on Saturday.
This is a special year for the Super Bowl for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the game is in New York, which is known by many as the media capitol of the world. Business will enjoy the exposure and sales and the fans will get to enjoy a Super Bowl in the tri-state area for the first time in history.
"The Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year," the NFL said in a statement. "More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show. The Super Bowl and halftime show will be broadcast worldwide."
Regardless of whether people are satisfied with Red Hot Chili Peppers being a part of the Super Bowl performance, the group still has plenty to show for.
"One of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer, Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including 'Best Rock Album' for Stadium Arcadium, 'Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group' for 'Dani California,' 'Best Rock Song' for 'Scar Tissue,' and 'Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal'for 'Give It Away,'" the NFL added.
