Demand for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has reached an all-time high as rumors circulate that the game is under development.

Rockstar Games has yet to drop any hints as to when Grand Theft Auto V PC will be released, or if it will even be created. According to rumors, however, the game developer might have more under its sleeves than gamers are led to believe.

Motoring crunch reports that sources have seen "dumped data" via "XML code that came from the console version of GTA 5." The website believes that the dumped data was for a PC game.

"Out-dated hardware in the console is not able to support major additions other than what is already there," the website said.

In addition, the dumped data contained a feature that is not included in Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360: blizzard weather. Snow is a playable feature in console versions of Grand Theft Auto V, but blizzard weather is an unseen option. Motoring crunch suspects that this feature is more advanced programming and is thus being reserved for a PC game.

"Thanks to the fact that GTA 5 used the entire console the coding cannot be rendered," motoring crunch said.

There was also a "common folder" found that reportedly contained data for weapons, actors and vehicles "which suggests that the PC images are in place," according to the website.

If Rockstar Games is indeed working on Grand Theft Auto V PC, the game developer ought to hurry because gamers are getting restless.

As of today, over 651,000 gamers have signed a Change.org petition requesting a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. The petition's creator hopes to gain about 350,000 more signatures.

According to a Brazilian retailer, the PC game will be released in March.

"I see no problem talking. I think until now been confirmed. Is scheduled for March on PC, if I'm not mistaken, for the 12th," Thiago Diniz, Nuveem director of digital distribution of games, said according to a translation performed by Techinews.
