'Winds of Winter' Author George RR Martin to Oversee an Adult Coloring Book
Aside from completing "The Winds of Winter," "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin has something else in store for his fans, and it involves crayons and other coloring materials.
Penguin Random House will be releasing the 96 page "George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones Coloring Book" on October 27, 2015, and according to the publisher's site, it will cost $15.
The adult coloring book will feature the works of various talented artists like Yvonne Gilbert, John Howe, Tomislav Tomic, Adam Stower, and Levi Pinfold. All the illustrators' creative works will be seen in their black and white renditions, a representative from Random House told The Wall Street Journal.
But if coloring books are not your thing, Martin has another treat coming your way.
"For all of you autograph collectors out there...My partner in crime Gardner Dozois is cleaning out his house in scenic Philadelphia, and he just send me two big boxes of OLD MARS and OLD VENUS hardcovers, all signed. I've added my own illegible scrawl to the title pages, to go with his. Since Gardner and I live two thousand miles apart, getting a copy of one of our anthologies signed by both of us is not easy. So here's your chance," wrote Martin on his online journal.
He also mentioned that the matching copies of "Old Mars" and "Old Venus," signed by editors Martin and Dozois, can be bought at the Jean Cocteau bookstore while supplies last. Aside from his edited works, Martin's other signed books, titled "The Armageddon Rag" and "Windhaven," which he co-wrote with Lisa Tuttle, are also available for purchase on the site.
Signed literary works from notable authors like Diana Gabaldon, Ellen Datlow, Lisa See, Carrie Vaughn, Junot Diaz, Lev Grossman, Dennis Lehane are also listed for sale on the online bookstore.
Meanwhile, "The Winds of Winter" is rumored to be released by spring next year, quite possibly, before the next season of "Game of Thrones" airs. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly two months ago, Martin revealed, "I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."
