Batman vs. Superman Movie Update: Intelligence Star Josh Holloway Replaces Jason Momoa as Rumored Aquaman
The Man of Steel sequel, also known as Batman vs. Superman, has its fair share of actors reportedly under consideration for the cast. This week, we welcome Josh Holloway to the rumor mill and say goodbye to Jason Momoa.
Momoa has long been a rumored future cast member of the Man of Steel sequel. Some suspected that the 34-year-old actor would play either Aquaman or Martian Manhunter. According to the actor, however, this is all just speculation.
"It's just rumors," Momoa said in an interview with IGN. "I want to say something amazing, but I can't comment on rumors. It's flattering."
Momoa, who has had various action roles including appearances in Game of Thrones and starring in 2011's Conan the Barbarian, squashed the rumor once and for all.
"I'm not involved in it," the actor added.
Momoa will star in an upcoming The Sundance Channel series The Red Road, which premieres Feb. 27 at 9 p.m.
When one door closes, another window opens. Fans might be disappointed to see the possibility of Momoa on the big screen fade away, but there is still reason to be hopeful, especially if you are a Lost fan.
According to ComicBookMovie, Josh Holloway, who played the beautiful James "Sawyer" Ford in ABC's Lost, is being "strongly" considered for a role in Batman vs. Superman. The website cites General Napier as its source but does not clarify who exactly that is or why he is credible.
According to the website, fans have said that Holloway, 44, would make a good Aquaman, but Batman-on-Film reports that neither Aquaman nor Martian Manhunter will appear in the Man of Steel sequel.
Holloway currently stars in CBS' "intelligence," which premiered last Tuesday with excellent ratings.
The Man of Steel sequel stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. The film will be released Jul. 17, 2015.
