Drake Hot New 'Views from the 6' Album Release 2015: '10 Bands' Rapper to Drop Upcoming LP on Apple Music's Connect [Pics]
Drake is set to release his highly anticipated fourth studio album, "Views from the 6," on Apple Music's new streaming service, Connect.
The Toronto emcee made an appearance at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on June 8 to promote the brand new product that may be in competition with Tidal, Spotify and Pandora.
According to Apple, Connect will enable artists, signed or not, to interact with fans. They can upload photos and music and post lyrics; the music material will then link to social media and various websites.
"I came up here to share my story about the way technology changed what I do for a living," Drizzy kicked off his three-minute speech.
The rapper then continued to explain that so many social media sites can be distracting. And he has the perfect solution for that.
"Focus on your body of work," he continued. "Instead of having to post your stuff on all these different and sometimes confusing places, it all lives in one very simple and easy place. That is Connect.
Drake said that Connect allows you to be connected at all times. And that it's something that is familiar for him, who said he used this approach to break out in 2008. Drake added that Apple has made the process that much smoother.
The "10 Bands" rapper also revealed that he is currently working on "VFT6," which will be premiered on Apple Music's latest feature.
"As I'm working tirelessly on this next album, this comes at the perfect time for me," he said. "Given the great success of my last mixtape that went directly to iTunes, I can't wait to incorporate Apple Music and especially Connect to what I'm doing next. I'm really excited about what I'm working on."
Connect will be available for $9.99 per month starting from June 30. Users will get their first three months for free.
