More than two months after The Game was accused of punching an off-duty police officer in the face during a pickup basketball game, the rapper turned himself into police on Monday.

People magazine reports the rap star, born Jayceon Terrell Taylor, was taken into custody on suspicion of making criminal threats charges and required to post a $50,000 bail before being released after about an hour.

The incident took place at Hollywood High School on March 29 and was captured on video. During Monday's events, officers did not address the issue of why so much time was allowed to elapse before Game was formally arrested.

Even after he had been put through the system, Game managed to keep a keen sense of humor, later posting a pic on Instagram after he had been released of him squatting outside the police station with the caption, "Waiting on my uber."

According to TMZ, in seeking an arrest warrant, police initially slapped Game with a felony charge. During those court proceedings, reps from the LA County District Attorney's office argued he taunted Officer Onyebuchi Awaji, "I'm going to kill you."

TMZ adds law enforcement sources speculate authorities decided to hit Game with making the terrorist charge as opposed to simple battery because it is a much more serious charge. The charge of battery is considered a misdemeanor.

Back then, Game denied making the threat and further alleged during the heat of the moment the officer hinted he had a gun in his gym bag.

In early April, Awaji filed civil suit against the rap star alleging the punch that hit him damaged his brain. Awaji added he did nothing to instigate the brawl and instead was simply nailed with a sucker punch.
