Duggar Family Refuses to Cooperate With new DHS Investigation, Police Called to Residence
The Duggar family is under investigation again by the Arkansas Department of Human Services but have refused to cooperate with police officials.
In Touch Weekly reports that on May 27, a representative from the Washington County DHS called 911 asking for police assistance after parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar refused to let the representative see their minor child who the DHS is concerned about.
Although In Touch was not legally able to disclose the reason why the Duggar family is under investigation once again, the publication was able to release a transcript from the DHS representative's 911 call.
"We have an investigation and I guess they're not being cooperative," the representative tells 911. "We have to see the child to make sure the child is all right. So we just need police assistance."
The Duggar family's latest investigation comes on the heels of the news that the family's eldest son Josh Duggar molested five underage girls -- some of whom were his sisters -- when he was 14 years old.
In Touch reports that the Duggar family's show "19 Kids and Counting" has been pulled off air until the TLC network can determine the fate of the show following the scandal.
In the meantime, Josh and the rest of his family members have apologized to the public in an effort to fix their now tarnished reputation.
In a statement released to People, Josh apologized for his actions and revealed he has since gone through counseling to deal with his mistakes.
"My parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life," Josh said.
His parents added that since the scandal, they have grown closer to God and taught Josh to do the same.
Finally, Josh's wife Anna admitted that he told her about the allegations prior to them getting married, but she made the decision to stick by his side.
"I can imagine the shock many of you are going through reading this. I remember feeling that same shock. When my family and I first visited the Duggar home, Josh shared his past teenage mistakes," Anna said.
"I was surprised at his openness and humility and at the same time didn't know why he was sharing it. For Josh, he wanted not just me but my parents to know who he really was -- even very difficult past mistakes."
Since coming forth to the public about the reports of his child molestation, Josh has resigned from his position at the Family Research Council.
