Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Relationship News: Why Did 'Gone Girl' Star Recently Check Out $25 Million Condo in NYC?
Amid growing rumors of discord in his marriage to Jennifer Garner, Academy Award-winning actor Ben Affleck toured a $25 million condo at a New York City "trophy tower" sometime last year.
The New York Post reported on Wednesday Affleck checked out the pad while he was in town to shoot a movie. Over time, neither the film nor a deal for Affleck to buy the apartment was agreed to.
But that has hardly meant an end to all the "Good Will Hunting" actor's marital woes.
According to Life & Style Weekly, Garner recently reached her breaking point when she got a call on the set of a movie she was shooting in Montreal informing her that Affleck was 40 minutes late picking their kids up from school, forcing her to have to scramble to make other arrangements and to secure a ride for them.
"She can't take it anymore," a source told the magazine. "She's been consulting with a high-profile divorce lawyer." The source added 43-year-old Garner has long been bothered by Affleck's "irresponsible behavior" but in recent times it's gotten even worse.
Reportedly, part of the problem has to do with Affleck's "spending tens of thousands of dollars at casinos and sometimes disappearing for days." The couple have three children together -- Violet, Seraphina and Samuel -- all of whom Garner supposedly plans to seek full custody of.
"She doesn't trust Ben alone with the kids," the source added. "Custody is not negotiable."
And speaking of negotiations, the NYC stunner of an apartment reportedly included 3,582 square feet and four massive bedrooms.
Affleck, 43, has also starred in such flicks as "Armageddon," "Shakespeare in Love," "Gone Girl," "Pearl Harbor," "Changing Lanes," "The Sum of All Fears," "Hollywoodland" and "Gone Baby Gone."
