Raven-Symoné has officially joined "The View" co-hosting panel.

E! News reports that on Wednesday, June 10, during a live taping of the show, veteran co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced Symoné's permanent position to the audience, and the announcement was followed by confetti bursting in the studio and applause from the crowd.

Following the announcement, Symoné walked onstage and brought gifts for each of the co-hosts including guest co-host Iliza Shlesinger.

E! News reports that "for Nicolle [Raven] brought chocolate, Whoopi got watermelon and potato chips, Rosie got tres leches cake and Iliza got bacon."

"I am so happy. I remember coming on The View when I was 15 years old for the first Cheetah Girls," Symoné said on the show. "I'm very happy to be sitting with these smart, talented mentors."

Symoné later released a statement obtained by Us Weekly saying that she is thrilled to be joining the show and that the hosts on "The View" have been "warm and welcoming" to her since she began guest co-hosting back in March.

"I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host," Symoné said in the statement. "I want to thank ABC, ABC News and The Disney Company for believing in me and my potential! Let's have some fun!"

Prior to the announcement of her permanent position on the show, there had been rumors that Symoné was a favorite among "The View" producers.

At the time, Us Weekly reported that producers were particularly fond of Symone who had shown great work ethic throughout the duration of her guest co-hosting stint.

"They think she's really smart but also a little kooky and so she'd be a good fit," an Us Weekly source said. "Every night she studies all the current events and topics for the next day. Everyone is blown away. Nobody else prepares like she does!"
