Mariah Carey to Replace Kate Upton as Face of 'Game of War'
Mariah Carey is set to replace Kate Upton as the new face of the Game of War: Fire Age series.
Sources tell TMZ the "Hero" singer and Latina superstar has inked a seven-figure deal to replace the 23-year-old Upton and is already set to begin shooting a 30-second commercial spot promoting the mobile game.
The 45-year-old Carey is also slated to be a key figure in several other promotional campaigns, at least the first of which is being handled by the same creator that directed "Terminator Genisys."
Game of War is estimated to rake in at least $1 million per day in revenue. Executives are reported to be stoked to have Carey on board and are rumored to be convinced her musical talents could add even more dimension for the online game.
It's a busy time for Carey, who also recently started her artist-in-residence Las Vegas gig at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Back in January, Carey told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that she planned to make all 18 of her former No. 1 hits part of her regular performance routine.
"I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this, because I'm going to be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1," she added. "Hopefully, other people will enjoy this. I've never done this before."
There's a good reason to start now. Fellow Vegas residency performer Britney Spears is reportedly being paid $30 million for her "Piece of Me" gig, which extends through 2017. And Celine Dion is rumored to have bagged as much as $476,000 per show until she recently postponed her tour to care for ailing husband René Angélil, who is battling ongoing health issues.
