Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias on Monday revealed his melancholic side when he used Instagram to post a quote by American pianist and actor Oscar Levant -- famous for his 1951 appearance in "An American in Paris" alongside Gene Kelly.

"Happiness isn't something you experience, it's something you remember," the famous saying goes, though the Madrid-born singer published a Spanish translation along with a closely shot portrait.

“La felicidad no es algo que experimentas; es algo que recuerdas.” – Oscar Levant

The musician's tribute seemed to resonate with Brisa Paz, a Mexico-based fan who was one of more than 50,000 Instagram users who had "liked" the post four hours after its publication.

"Dude, that is totally true," Paz replied. "My happiness lies within what I remember, and that memory is having met you in Veracruz and having (had) you so close. Thank you!"

In yet another Instagram message, Iglesias encouraged his local followers to purchase tickets for his third performance at Mexico City's National Auditorium, where he is set to appear on July 5. Prices for the event range from about $30 to about $190, and the performer warned his fans "not to lose out" on the concert as the pre-sale kicked off.

Given the Mexican flag-inspired collage that accompanied the message, Iglesias seems to again be enjoying his time in the North American country in spite of the injury he suffered two weeks ago after a couple of his fingers were sliced during a concert in Tijuana.

During the event in the Baja California city, the singer had grabbed a drone -- apparently from the wrong site, according to the Associated Press.

"During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident; he decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show," a representative noted. Iglesias "was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there; he was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist."
