Apple's World Wide Developers Conference 2015 unveiled a lot of new things for the tech giant. Among those that people were eager to get a glimpse of is the latest OS update from the company, the OS X 10.11 El Capitan, which is set to come out later in fall.

While the overall aesthetics of El Capitan is not that much different from its predecessor, the OS X 10.10 Yosemite, new features have been added for faster access of files and to make computer use easier.

In the new operating system, a major change comes in the form of the split view feature, noted Tech Crunch. This will allow users to monitor other applications running in the background better and enable them to multi-task in an easier manner.

For this feature, a maximum of two apps will run side-by-side to fill up the screen. Apple has ensured that accessing this feature will not be too taxing as one simply needs to put the track pad pointer on the green circle that is used to transform the application into full screen mode and give it a long press. The user will then need to select another app it wants to run consecutively and drag it beside the previous one.

The Cupertino-based firm also updated the Spotlight search feature for the latest OS, noted The Telegraph. It is now also designed to be able to look for items in the computer with the use of a natural language search option.

The user can simply type, "Show emails received yesterday" and it will come up with a list of emails including attachments and its kind of application for the user's reference.

The overhauled Spotlight can search for data including Calendar, Mail, Messages and Apps. It can also update the user with the latest weather forecasts and other stock news.

Apple's Mission Control has been revamped so that users will be able to see all the applications running with just one look. Previous version hides some applications underneath others.

For those who found previous iteration of Notes boring, the updated version now allows users to embed videos and photos for their reference. It is also simpler to add photos and videos to a note as one need only to "drag and drop" it into the application.

Safari has also received an overhaul with the feature that allows users to mute an audio through the Smart Search Bar even without opening the actual page it's coming from.

On the other hand, Maps decided to be a step ahead of Google Maps with the inclusion of transit options for users to know how they can reach certain destinations and what form or transportation is available in a specific area.

Apple has recently come out with a beta version of OS X 10.11 El Capitan for programmers to play with so some of these features can still change when the official version comes out this fall.
