'Murder in the First' Season 2 Episode 3 Spoilers: A Revelation Sends Department into Chaos [Watch]
“Murder in the First” -- TV legend Steven Bochco’s latest foray into the detective drama -- is back on TNT.
In Episode 3 of the second season, “Blue on Blue,” some devastating revelation will send the department into chaos, according to the teaser video.
In a recent interview with Buddy TV, Raphael Sbarge, the 51-year-old actor who plays Inspector David Molk opposite Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, talked about the series and how close the show comes to everyday horrors.
The summer season opened by exploring the all-too-real scenario of guns in schools. Sbarge said that for parents the show “is literally every parent's nightmare.” He believes what the writers are trying to do with the story is “take apart” a story that is “unfortunately ripped from the headlines.”
“I've had friends who were affected by Sandy Hook, their neighbors affected by it, [and] we've seen it more than we should,” Sbarge said. “But I know what the [creators] are trying to do is really sort of explore this as a conversation. And to not just be something sensational, but take it and get in depth with it.”
The actor, who has had a much more playful acting experience with his role as Jiminy Cricket in “Once Upon a Time,” said, “As much as we don't want to look at these things -- if it can be explored, if we can understand what happened in Boston or Sandy Hook; if we can talk about the issues -- in some sort of way, I think hopefully we'll keep it in the conversation so we're not just talking about it for the two weeks after.”
“Blue on Blue” airs June 22 on TNT.
