'Under the Dome' Season 3 Episode 1 & 2 Spoilers: New Challenges Await Residents in Tunnels [Watch]
"Under the Dome" viewers will begin to learn more about the dome that has surround Chester's Mills and has created challenges for its residents, according to International Business Times.
Season 3 kicks off Thursday, June 25, at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS with back-to-back episodes. New threats will be presented to residents of Chester's Mills in the first two episodes when they head to the tunnels beneath the town.
Season 2 gave viewers a look into the struggles that people in the dome-surrounded city faced. Some residents including Barbie tried to escape through the dome through a crater. Some made it, and others were not so lucky as the dome widened, leaving Julia, Junior and Big Jim stuck behind.
The summary for the premiere reveals that in Season 3 the Dome will begin to reveal "its ultimate agenda" and townspeople of Chester's Mills will be "forced to question what and whom they can trust as fresh threats appear."
Executive producers for the show said that this season of "Under the Dome" will answers questions that viewers have continuously asked.
"We will tell you why the dome came down and what it's about," executive producer Neal Baer said. "You'll know exactly why this happened the way that it happened."
Even though some questions will be answered, new scenarios will leave viewers asking more questions about the show. New residents will arrive in Chester's Mills and their intentions will be in question. Surprising new alliances can be expected and this will lead to plot-twisting events.
"I think fans like to have the mystery, but they also do like to have the mystery solved at some point," Baer said. "So we'll solve some mysteries -- only to produce some new ones."
Those who escaped the Dome and those who are still trapped inside will appear in these two episodes.
Residents will try to work together to find a way to destroy the dome and free themselves from its grasp. According to Franchise Herald, Season 3 is when they will figure out a way to get out of the giant trap.
