The Boston Red Sox are expected to make moves before the trade deadline on July 31, but veteran David Ortiz said that he will not be part of any deal later in the season.

Ortiz is hitting .231 this season with nine home runs and 29 RBIs. While he is not hitting like before as age is catching up with the 39-year-old, the designated hitter is expected to attract attention before the deadline.

But will he agree to a trade to another team?

Ortiz said in an interview with Boston Globe that he has no plans to waive his right to decline to a trade because he wants to finish his career with the Red Sox.

"No chance," Ortiz said of agreeing to a trade. "This is the team I'll be with the rest of my career."

Ortiz spent his first seasons in the league in Minnesota, but has spent the next 13 in Boston. The 19-year veteran said he treats the Red Sox as his family and admitted that it will be hard for him to adjust to a new team if he agrees to be traded later in the season.

"I couldn't do that to my family," added Ortiz, who has won three World Series in Boston and was the Most Valuable Player during their 2013 title run. "I couldn't just go to another team and fit in after all of these years. I want to be here."

Pablo Sandoval Benched for Using Instagram

Meanwhile, Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval was benched during their 5-2 win against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday for using Instagram during their game against the same squad on Wednesday.

Sandoval used his mobile phone to like a photo of a woman on Instagram. According to ESPN, the 28-year-old liked the Instagram photo when he returned to their locker room to use the bathroom.

Sandoval, who is playing in his first season in Boston, admitted his mistake. He said he has already talked to Red Sox manager John Farrell and general manager Ben Cherington to apologize for his actions.

"I made a mistake," Sandoval told reporters. "I learned from that. I'm a human being, I made a mistake, so I apologize to my teammates, to the team, to the organization, the fans support. This is a thing that I pushed the button at the wrong time."

Sandoval, who signed a four-year deal worth $88 million in the offseason with a fifth-year vesting option, is averaging .270 this season with six home runs and 23 RBIs.
