‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Releases its First Trailer for Spinoff Series [Watch]
Although we all knew it was coming after announcing it earlier this year, "The Walking Dead" spinoff "Fear the Walking Dead" is finally starting to take shape.
"Fear the Walking Dead" has just released its first official trailer for the upcoming prequel series and it looks like it's going to be an incredible show.
As everyone already knew, this prequel series is going back to the beginning, the place in time where the zombie uprising had officially started and it is set in Los Angeles, according to the L.A. Times.
This was around the same time Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was shot in the line duty, before he awoke in the hospital and discovered the zombie apocalypse.
The teaser-trailer itself does not show too much, but it is a quite amazing introduction to the series, with a great sense of impending doom that featured what appeared to be lead character Nick (Frank Dillane) in the series running away from something.
"The Walking Dead" itself is already five seasons into its headlining TV run on AMC. This companion series is also slated to air on AMC and will be ran by showrunner Robert Kirkman.
Nick is also joined by his sister Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) in the series, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Kirkman sat down for an interview with EW and gave them a little insight into the two characters.
"Alicia is your atypical teenage girl. She excels at school. She's on her way to college. She's very self-sufficient. She's very self-reliant. She's kind of the model student and the model child," Kirkman told EW.
But Nick is quite the opposite of Alicia, as Kirkman pointed out.
"In the face of that (Alicia), we've got Nick -- who is played by Frank Dillane -- who is pretty much a parent's worst nightmare," Kirkman said. "He has flunked out of college, had a lot of trouble, got mixed up in some bad elements, and is definitely the problem child. And it's exacerbated for him to be next to this perfect sister who seemingly doesn't have anything going on in her life that is negative. But that's not really the case, that's just his perception. So you have these two siblings that are very much at odds with each other."
