The New Zealand mockumentary style film "What We Do in the Shadows" portrays Jemaine Clement ("Flight of the Conchords") as the vampire Vladislav, who shares a flat with three other vampires in this outrageous comedy-horror film that takes on the "found footage" approach, according to Rue Morgue.

The film features Vladislav, Viago and Deacon as centuries-old vampires that still retain their youthful look. But they are also rooming with a vampire named Petyr, who is over 8,000 years old and looks a little more like Count Orlok in "Nosferatu."

In the movie, they are being followed around by a human documentary crew who film their nightly lives, which includes all the elements inherent to other vampire films. This means they cannot go out in sunlight, and they drink human blood, according to NPR.

So the film features comical angles, such as an assistant to Vlad, who is resentful of the fact he won't turn her into a vampire. This in turn leads her to bring her ex-boyfriend over for a feeding, which the young, fumbling vampires botch when he escapes alive and turns into a vampire.

They later accept him into their flat as a mate, but he accidentally reveals their secret to a vampire hunter who wreaks havoc on them.

Throw into the mix a healthy dose of witches, zombies and werewolves, all of whom are just trying to get by in the digital age. This leads to mountains of comedy and blood-soaked action for this film festival gem.

The North American Blu-Ray release for this film is slated for July 21 and includes tons of extras. The cast also includes Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh and Rhy Darby.

The film was given a 96 percent fresh rating by review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and 88 percent of the audience liked it.
