"The Exes" star Donald Faison recently partnered up with the National Pork Board and has been coming up with pork grilling recipes that he intends to prepare on Father's Day.

During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Faison said, "It is a no-brainer," that he and the National Pork board have partnered together because he has been grilling for "about 15 years" and has "a couple of recipes" that he is particularly good at.

"It's always great to grill out with people. And when [they] asked me if I wanted to participate I was like, 'Yes please,'" he added.

In a separate interview with MadameNoire, Faison discussed how he developed a passion and skill for grilling and described his idea of the perfect Father's Day.

Faison explained that growing up in New York City wasn't the ideal place for him to take up an interest in grilling since he lived in an apartment at the time and grilling was not allowed. However, when he moved to Los Angeles, he had more free reign to grill and perfect the skill.

"Once I moved to Los Angeles I wanted to learn how to grill. I thought it was something cool. And it's so much a part of the culture out here. You go to parks, and there are grills in the parks," he explained.

"So I was like, "You know what? I need to learn how to grill. I want to show everybody I can do this.' And there's also something cool about the guy standing at the grill with his apron and his oven mitt and his tongs flipping pork. So I moved out here, and the first thing I ever tried to cook was pork ribs."

For Father's Day this year, Faison intends to continue putting his grilling skills to use with the company of his family.

Faison predicted that he would make ribs, french fries, and potato salad for his wife and kids and then have some quiet time to himself.

"Afterwards [when I finish cooking] I want to take a nap and not have to hear the kids. I love 'em, but you know ... it's my day!" he said.
