Mexican Rock Group Maná Slams Donald Trump, Joins Cher & Neil Young in Anti-Trump Blast [VIDEO]
Many Mexicans and Latinos, including Mexican rock group Maná, Cher and Neil Young, wish they could say, "Donald Trump, you're fired!" just like he says on "The Apprentice" when squashing the dreams of business-savvy, aspiring entrepreneurs.
However, in this case, it would be towards his 2016 presidential bid and verbal attacks on Mexicans and Latino immigrants during his presidential campaign speech last week, as well as the misuse of Young's hit song, "Rockin' in the Free World."
Needless to say, the music world isn't thrilled with Trump either.
Besides his infamous golden comb-over, the 2016 GOP presidential hopeful is known for being outspoken, rude and offensive with his remarks, deep jabs and insults towards many. Recently, there were strong reactions voiced from Mexican rock group Maná who defended the dignity of Mexican immigrants.
"There is a person named Donald Trump who made very violent statements, full of hate against Mexicans and Latin Americans; called them rapists, criminals, drug traffickers, and that they were rubbish," said Fher Olvera, leader of the group, at a press conference preceding the concert for the 'Burning Bed' tour at the Staples Center in Los Angeles," EFE.com reported.
Still reeling from the business tycoon's cruel verbal attack against the community, Fher went a step further during the concert (which was captured in a video they posted on the band's Facebook page) and compared Trump's hate to Hitler and reflected on the hard-working people who have come to the U.S., "our parents, everyone" who has come here to make this country a better place.
During his presidential campaign speech, Trump said: "When Mexico sends its people they're not sending the best. They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they're telling us what we're getting."
Maná isn't the only group of people in the music world who are appalled at the billionaire reality TV mogul who preached his ignorance in front of a crowd of partially paid supporters to Young's "Rockin' in the Free World."
Young reportedly wants nothing to do with Trump's presidential campaign and never gave him permission to use his hugely successful song in the first place.
According to reports, "Young said in a statement that Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' in the Free World' in his presidential candidacy announcement." The statement added that, "Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders (D - Vermont) for President of the United States of America."
"Trump's camp claimed they paid both ASCAP and BMI for rights to the song, but would cease from using it out of respect to Young," Consequence of Sound reported. "The singer, meanwhile, out of respect to his own political beliefs, has turned around and given Trump's opponent Sanders permission to use "Rockin' in the Free World."
Along with Maná, music diva and icon, Cher added to the disgust of Trump's presidential campaign speech tweeting:
Trump has been on an offensive roll. Back in February, he reportedly bashed Mexico during the Oscars and "claimed he would build a wall to curb illegal immigration and make Mexico pay for it, and characterized its citizens as 'rapists.'"
